Agribusiness Projects under ACELI Africa

As a key partner of Aceli Africa, the ADC Tanzania Ltd provides tailored business development services to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) engaged in agribusiness value chains. These SMEs are selected beneficiaries of Aceli’s Technical Assistance (TA) program, which is designed to strengthen their capacity, unlock growth opportunities, and improve access to finance.

Trianon Spice Companies

  • Formed Organic Grower Groups (OGGs) with legal/admin support in Muheza, Tanga.
  • Developed governance structures, bank accounts, and record-keeping systems.
  • Linked farmers to CRDB Bank for pre-harvest financing.
  • Registered Magoroto AMCOS (187 farmers) with DCO support.
  • Trained farmers on governance, record-keeping, and women’s inclusion.
  • Improved market access via Trianon’s off-take agreements.

ADC’s Role: Assists in organizing farmers into cooperatives, governance, and financial linkages to strengthen spice value chains.

  • Developed HR policies, operational manuals, and board charters in Mtwara.
  • Renegotiated off-taker contracts and explored new markets.
  • Facilitated EPZ/SEZ registration discussions with EPZA for factory rebranding.
  • Established HR/finance frameworks for operational efficiency.
  • Secured BRELA compliance and TADB bank loan.
  • Enabled EPZA incentives for future growth.

ADC’s Role: Supports HR, governance, and EPZ/SEZ registration to enhance cashew processing operations.

  • Refined business plan, M&E framework, and implementation planning in Njombe and Mbeya.
  • Developed board charter for effective decision-making.
  • Optimized cost efficiency and cash flow management.
  • Empowered 3,000+ smallholder farmers with market access and higher incomes.
  • Expanded national/international markets via partnerships (AvoAfrica, Taha).
  • Promoted sustainable farming practices for improved yields.

JIFUNZE UTOKE is a program funded by the Africa Guarantee Fund through AFAWA, in partnership with Equity Bank Tanzania and ADC Tanzania. It aims to empower women-owned businesses (WSMEs) with training in areas like management, marketing, bookkeeping, and tax compliance. Graduates may receive tailored support to access loans from Equity Bank.
